Envelop is a nonprofit that amplifies the power of music through immersive listening experiences.
With 32 speakers surrounding the audience, our immersive sound venues and free open source spatial audio tools, provide a space to deeply listen, relax and reset. We host a diversity of events ranging from spatial music performances and album listening events, to wellness and 3D audio education. Envelop allows us to be inside the music.
Envelop immersive audio venues allow us to be inside music. 32 speakers completely surround the audience creating a sphere of spatial sound.
Envelop has created the following venues:
Envelop for Live is a collection of free, open-source spatial audio production tools that work with Ableton Live Suite.
Three-dimensional sound placement enables artists to create immersive mixes for multichannel spaces and headphone-based VR/AR environments, amplifying emotional impact by placing the audience inside the music.
Envelop for Live guides the spatialization of spherical sound in all Envelop venues, and also works with any custom speaker array (4 speakers minimum) or even normal headphones. It is now easier than ever for musicians, producers, artists, and sound designers, to create their own DIY systems and utilize space as a compositional element.
All of our tools are free and open-source, allowing this technology to reach new audiences easier, therefore catalyzing more spatial music creation and shared listening experiences. If you have 3D music to share as a listening event, or performance in an Envelop venue, please submit a proposal here.
Envelop produces a wide range of events that allow listening to be the priority. Our events fully activate the creative, social and emotional potential of Envelop's immersive audio venues.
